Malibu 1992 showcases at Milan Fashion Week.
Milanese sportswear brand, Malibu 1992 is the epitome of 90s house music and aliens, proposing a hysterical political statement. The brand new line created by Dorian Gray—né Dorian Stefano Tarantini, presents a black T-shirt screen-printed with a scene from Roland Emmerich’s 1996 film, Independence Day, where a hovering alien spaceship laser torpedoes the White House.
The eco-friendly textiles only make this collection more desirable than it already is as the former creative director of Plastic, a sybaritic, at times gay nightclub takes his admiration for 90s house music and applies it to clothing while also seemingly protecting the environment.
A back to the 90s club scene approach is visible in this collection- ultraviolet purple, freely wrapped chains, fishnet socks, and reflective bits. Outerwear was the focus as parkas were big, pocketed, mean and easy-to-wear.
