End of an era.
The news broke today that the landmark Paris concept store Colette will be closing on 20th December. The announcement came via the Colette Instagram page which stated “Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and Colette cannot exist without Colette.”
The store which ran for 20 years was home for the perfect mix of high fashion, streetwear and quirky lifestyle products. The store is famed for pop-ups and collaborations with established and up and coming brands alike.
There are discussions going on for Saint Laurent to take over the three story, 8,000 square-foot space on which the company stated: “Negotiations are under way with Saint Laurent and we would be proud to have a brand with such a history, with whom we have frequently collaborated, taking over our address.”
From dining at the edgy Water Bar, book signings, souvenirs and brand collaborations the store announced: “Until our last day, nothing will change. Colette will continue to renew itself each week with exclusive collaborations and offerings, also available on our website colette.fr”
