PAUSE EATS: Mill & Brew

By September 18, 2018Lifestyle, Restaurant

Tucked away in London’s suburbs, Mill & Brew is a gem of a restaurant that far exceeds that of your average cafe come restaurant in the Greater London area. Offering simultaneously contemporary & rustic interiors alongside a slew of simple, yet elevated, dishes to choose from; this newly opened eatery is definitely one to visit if you’re ever in the locality.

Spearheaded by head chef Aidan, an understudy of renowned chef Jame Oliver, the casual restaurant serves as an ideal venue for an early morning coffee, an indulgent (or healthy!) breakfast, brunch or a fuss-free spot of lunch with friends and family. The cosy and unassuming local staple has some classic cafe-type favourites but what really makes the menu here special are the dishes inspired by Aidan’s passion and knowledge.

Produced with predominantly locally sourced and British ingredients, for breakfast, guests can choose from the likes of coconut soaked organic oatmeal porridge served with homemade raspberry compote, blackberries and passionfruit, or millennial favourite smashed avocado on sourdough topped with chilli and lime. For those looking for something a little more robust to get themselves going, options like the timeless full English or Amerian favourite eggs benedict with parma ham will set you up for the day like no other.

While the breakfast menu really stands out, when it comes to their lunchtime fare, Mill & Brew build on the most important meal of the day with a selection of delectable choices such as a beef brisket burger served with cheddar cheese and a chicken burger in a brioche bun topped with sriracha mayo – a hangover sucker punch for the ages.

Rounding things out, their expansive selection of teas, well-made coffee & homemade juices (you have to try the zero sugar lemonade!) would put any high street coffee shop to shame. That being said, those looking for a stronger tipple have the option of a cool beer, chilled wine or prosecco – why not?!

In the very unlikely event that Aiden’s cooking doesn’t fill the gap, there’s always the option to end your meal with a truly mouthwatering homemade from the counter – I mean, go big or go home right?
