Bringing feminity to streetwear.
Using Streetwear tropes to put its own twist on traditional garments such as suits, shirts and cardigans, Takeon’s summer collection uses vibrant colours to create a playful mood. Among an array of strong pieces, the label’s suits stand out as elastic fastening on the arms and logo emblazoned tabs on the lapels present the perfect balance of experimentation and traditionalism.
Founding their label in 2018, Chelsea Ma and Jessica Zhao have an ethos of gender neutrality, as they were inspired by a lack of female representation in streetwear. Chelsea says, “I feel that women are often underrepresented when it comes to streetwear. Streetwear culture can often become a boys club but I believe that girls can wear men’s suits and guys can wear women’s cardigan if they choose to.”
