PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Selling out almost immediately, there was only ever one way to kick off this week’s round-up and that was with the Converse x Stüssy One Star. The simple black and white silhouette arrived alongside a similarly designed Chuck 70 Hi, with this pair of low-riders boasting a black hemp upper, tonal contrast stitching, and collaborative Converse and Stüssy branding on the medial panels. This is a pair that can’t be missed this summer.

Nike have taken keeping it plain to a whole other level for this release as they drop the Air Jordan 4 ‘Blank Canvas’. Doing exactly what it says on the tin, this pair keep it clean with a minimalistic feel as they come adorned in a plain, and slightly distressed, off-white canvas material. Additionally, stitched Jumpman branding arrives in white on the rear and tongue, whilst subtle splashes of blue and red hit the sole.

Nike are two for two this week as they keep the Air Force 1 Mid hype train going with the release of the ‘Chocolate/Cream’ colourway. Arriving in the customary ankle-high AF1 Mid shape, the pair utilise a rich brown suede for the entirety of the upper, with aged cream laces, midsoles, and Nike branding adding a distinctly vintage feel, with a signature velcro strap adding to the 80s/90s aesthetic.

Recent trends have indicated a shift towards smarter footwear is well and truly upon us, and Reebok and EAMES have taken notice. Putting forward a hybridised smart-casual sneaker, the duo have unveiled a brown leather iteration of Reebok’s Classic Leather silhouette, with this pair featuring a wood grain design, black laces, midsole, and tongue, as well as a host of Reebok x EAMES branding. Rounding out this week’s selection of sneakers are PLEASURES and Dr. Martens, who have joined forces once again for a collaborative iteration of the 1461 silhouette. The pair keep to the muted colours of this week’s line-up, boasting an all-over black and grey tie-dye print, with a premium leather upper and yellow stitching completing the standouts from the pair. Lastly, PLEASURES branding adorns the lateral side, whilst a co-branded footbed completes the aesthetics.
