'Coming soon'...
adidas have provided a closer look at the upcoming release of the adiFOM Q sneaker, additionally giving sneakerheads some long-awaited context behind the controversial release.
Only last month, a certain Kanye West adamantly claimed that the adiFOM Q sneaker was a direct copy of YEEZY designs and that the adiFOM Q shoes “[…] represent the disrespect that people in power have to the talent. This shoe is a fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves.”
Whilst the striking similarities between prior YEEZY designs and the adiFOM Q silhouette were clear to see, adidas have subtly confirmed that the sneaker was in fact inspired by the archival early 2001 adidas Quake silhouette. Putting to bed rumours of direct plagiarism, adidas has announced that the adiFOM Q is set to release ‘soon’, with this futuristic-looking sneaker boasting a white sculpted exterior that looks to be made of a mix of lightweight EVA material, foam exteriors for added ventilation, comfort-centric Primeknit sock lining, as well as a traditional lacing system and a simple grey colour scheme.
