Virgil Lives On.

Art and design university Royal College of Art has unveiled plans for a new scholarship inspired by the late Virgil Abloh.

Having long had a relationship with the school before his untimely death, Virgil Abloh historically worked as an Honorary Visiting Professor back in 2020, looking to hone the talent of the next generation of creatives. Titled the ‘RCA Virgil Abloh Scholarship’, the program will look to help young and disadvantaged Black British students, waiving off the £35,000 fee for the year as well as handing the recipient integral industry experience and networking opportunities with the support and guidance of British fashion designer Samuel Ross and fellow creative industry partners.

The program, which is being supported by Virgil’s wife Shannon Abloh and the Fashion Scholarship Fund in the USA, will apply to every area of the RCA School of Design postgraduate study, which includes Fashion, Design Products, Textiles, Service Design, and Intelligent Mobility.

The RCA Virgil Abloh Scholarship is set to begin next year in 2023.
