New Balance 550 Pink Suede
Welcome back to another week of sneaker releases where we’ll start off with the widely sought-after New Balance 550. With a retro-inspired basketball silhouette that’s hard to not love, it’s uncommon to see this model without a mainly black or white base. However, this week, we see the shoe get a pink suede makeover that features a washed look to further reinforce the vintage aesthetic. The white hits on the upper are done in a clean white canvas as the outsole gets a cream touch.
Brain Dead x Asics GEL-Nimbus 9 Nightshade
With Asics’ big push for the GEL-Nimbus 9 model in the past year, Brain Dead has decided to put their touch on the top-selling model with this new ‘Nightshade’ rendition. Predominantly featuring hues of dark purple and green, the complex layers keep the shoe interesting and futuristic whilst the touches of coral and neon brighten up an otherwise dark shoe. The GEL cushioning that provides heaps of comfort top off a criminally underrated shoe.
Needles x Reebok Beatnik MOC
The only thing better than wearing a comfy slipper indoors is being able to wear them outdoors, and that’s exactly what Reebok have achieved with their Beatnik MOC silhouette. This time, however, the sportswear brand have decided to collaborate with Japanese label Needles as they scatter their signature butterfly logo in purple around on an all-black suede upper. The comfort comes from the chunky, aggressive outsole that provides cushioning for all-day wearability as well as ample padding in the heel area.
Adidas Y-3 Gazelle Off White
As fashion steers away from flashy prints and logos, these Adidas Y-3 Gazelles are perfect for a clean, subtle flex. Arriving in an off-white suede that covers the entirety of the shoe, the Y-3 treatment is prominent through the chunky silhouette, loose threads from the three stripes motif and a more minimalistic lacing system. The tonal shoe is the perfect versatile option for the sneakerhead that’s looking for a trusty, everyday option.
Nike Air Max TW Black/University Blue
No list would be complete without a new Nike release and here we have the TW, a modern take on the Air Max Tailwind that was initially released back in 1978. Combining retro and modern aesthetics, the sneaker features a predominantly all-black upper with hits of University Blue for a sleek pop of colour. The Tailwind reference comes from the chevron pattern that can be seen on the side panels of the shoe and with a chunky Air unit on the midsole, these comfy trainers are the perfect option for a chill, tracksuit outfit.
