Alessandro Michele Reportedly Undergoing Contract Negotiations with Valentino

Next Steps.

2024 has been a whirlwind for creative directors among some of the industry’s most esteemed brands. In the days following Pierpaolo Piccioli’s announcement that he would be leaving Valentino after 25 years of service, the rumour mill had a field day when speculating who would be his successor. WWD has reported that the most serious candidate for Piccioli’s gig would be none other than former Gucci creative director, Alessandro Michele.

Sources of WWD pinpoint Rachid Mohamed Rachid as the catalyst for Michele’s potential arrival, as the CEO of Valentino’s parent company Mayhoola was interested in placing Michele at Walter Albini. Other insiders within the industry stated Michele and Valentino CEO Jacopo Venturini have a long-standing relationship. With Michele’s non-compete expiring in a month, the possibilities of his next job are endless.

While neither party has confirmed these rumours, continue checking PAUSE for more updates on the creative director saga.
