Confirming the swirling rumours around the duo’s imminent collaboration, former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele has been announced as Valentino’s latest creative director.
After departing Gucci earlier last year, it had been heavily speculated about where Michele may turn to next in the fashion world, with his outlandish design style set to take whatever outfit he turned to up a whole new level. Officially confirming the heavily speculated news, Valentino and Michele stepped forward to announce that the Italian fashion designer would be taking the helm of creative director starting April 2nd, unveiling his first effort alongside the iconic fashion house later this year in September’s Paris Fashion Week.
In a statement about his appointment, Alessandro Michele stated the following:
“It’s an incredible honor. I feel immense joy and enormous responsibility to join a couture maison where the word ‘beauty’ is etched into a collective history of distinct elegance, refinement, and extreme grace.”
