A Motorcycling Masterclass.
Martine Rose’s self-awareness is second to none, moving with the times with seeming ease. For Spring/Summer 2025, the British-Jamaican designer is channeling an affection for motorcycling silhouettes and the idea of the unconventional.
Shot by Sharna Osborne, this new campaign from Martine Rose hones in on the hazy aesthetic of her SS25 Milan Fashion Week show back in the summer of 2024, with blurry campaign imagery encapsulating a tangible sense of disturbance in and amongst the typical themes of sex, movement, and drama. This dramatic notion is underlined most prominently through Rose’s use of body-modifying latex prosthetics, with fake noses and wigs looking to explore the unconventional tools we use to explore character and a sense of self.
A distinct sex appeal fills the thickened air of the Martine Rose SS25 campaign and collection, with off-the-cuff styling choices instilling a sense of spontaneity and freshness into the range of new season garments. The men’s and women’s collections range from heritage branded caps and big-buckled belts to floor-length coats and multifaceted jackets, with Rose continuing to utilise her signature design codes. Additional inclusions see women’s shirts, skirts, and camisoles boast motorcycle-themed “protective” brassiere cups, with longline men’s playboy gowns and tailored denim combinations continuing to solidify Martine Rose as a certified bridge between formal and informal.
