Obicà Mozzarella Bar

Elevated Comfort Food.

Obicà Mozzarella Bar is one of London’s most reliable Italian assets, and its newest winter menu hits all the right notes. Translating as “right before your eyes” in the dialect of Napoli, Italy, “Obicà” is open plan and expansive, providing not only a look into the kitchen as you eat, but also an extensive array of reimagined classic Italian dishes. Above all else, warmth is the word.

The first edition of Obicà Mozzarella Bar in the world was opened back in May 2004, going on to open up locations in Europe, United States and Japan. As of 2025, Obicà has 20 restaurants in a host of international cities, ranging from the likes of Milan and Palermo to London and Tokyo. Opting for that signature Mediterranean aesthetic, Obicà opted for some of the most renowned names in the industry of restaurant design for its spaces, enlisting the likes of Labics and Andy Martin. Utilising an earthy design palette, natural materials such as wood blocks, glass, iron, brass, and concrete backs are used across the board, being chopped and changed to adapt to the distinctive vibes of different cities.

PAUSE took a trip to our local Obicà Mozzarella Bar to try out its new winter menu. From soft burrata starters to artichoke tortelloni, check out the menu below.

Obicà’s mission status is pretty simple: it relies on quality, seasonality, and showcasing the best of Italian ingredients. Heading down to Obicà’s Poland Street restaurant late last year, this was more than apparent. A warm and woody atmosphere embraces the delicate simplicity of Italian cuisine as well as their way of life, with the all-new winter menu typifying this sense of casual, yet elevated excellence.

Traversing up and down Obicà’s latest menu, we started off with the hit burrata and pear salad, which was an ideal opening contrast that combined a dreamy mix of textures and tastes, utilising rich and creamy burrata with red chicory, lamb’s lettuce, grapes, walnuts, and a tangy honey-mustard dressing. A more filling dose of prawn and lemon arancini instilled some more varying textures, whilst olives classic tomato bruschetta brought us back to some more traditional Italian favourites. Fresh artichoke and ricotta tortelloni intertwined with grana padano cream for a truly indulgent main course, whilst a classic carbonara made sure all the basic boxes were firmly ticked.

Elsewhere in the winter menu, the selezione di formaggi underlines Obicà’s quality-rich food and all-around mantra, featuring three exceptional cheeses from alta irpinia, conzato calitrano aged in terracotta, pecorino with aglianico wine, and pecorino with black pepper. The standout dish is united with rocket, red chicory, toasted almonds, dates, pear mostarda, and crostini. A rich tortino pairs perfectly, joining carnaroli rice from Mantua in Lombardy with the deepened flavour of porcini mushrooms and the absorbing scent of black truffle, which is itself an autumnal Italian classic. The signature tomato soup also returns to Obicà this year and provides a solid option for those colder London days, featuring masseria dauna tomatoes from Puglia, creamy stracciatella, and fresh basil. More showstoppers to try include the perfectly-balanced pumpkin and black truffle pizza as well as Obicà’s new hazelnut panna cotta, being an end of night treat that reimagines this iconic Italian dessert with a caramelised hazelnut crumble.
