South Korean avant-garde label Songzio has announced their first collaboration with The Simpsons, turning the historic dark comedy into renowned pieces of art.
Known for turning catwalks into dramatic art displays, Songzio does the same with characters from the show. Transporting Homer and the rest of the crew to the Renaissance era, Songzio uses intricate graphic clothing to capture the show’s hidden positive familial relations.
The mythical world revealed in Songzio’s paintings has been hand-embroidered and silk-screened onto clothing. Using the show’s inherent playfulness and humour, traditional garments feature irregular cuts and reversed patterns.
