The New Wave.
Tailoring is the in thing right now, with the blurring of the lines between streetwear and more traditional formalwear having been a standout development in 2024. Fast forward to 2025, Louis Vuitton has elevated its smarter range through its “New Formal” Fall/Winter 2025 collection.
Following on from previous formalwear capsules, Louis Vuitton continues to emblazon traditional menswear silhouettes with its iconic insignia, putting a particular emphasis on the branded details. Pharrell’s luxurious touch is cemented across the selection, with the look book consisting of everything from a dark grey “LV” checkerboard print suit, a similarly-styled dark blue pinstripe suit, and a minimal, streamlined tracksuit to the French fashion house’s answer to the Hermès Birkin Bag. The remainder of the collection is filled out with everything a smarter look could need, including black leather Oxford shoes, longline coats, flared formal trousers, knitted sweaters, leather jackets and more. Leaning further into its creative director’s glitzy approach to fashion, sequins find their way onto a a trim knitted sweater, a chevron blouson, as well as a checked collarless jacket, whilst a vibrant orange suit doubles down on Pharrell’s affection for a flared bottom and an accompanying double-breasted suit jacket.
Louis Vuitton’s FW25 “New Formal” collection will release on February 20th.
