Going Ghost.
Stone Island has unveiled the latest chapter of their “Community as a Form of Research” Spring/Summer 2025 collection. While the main line works as the brands foundation and backbone, their ghost collections serve as a creative playground for their designers to work with unique materials and cuts.
Their three jackets have been modeled on actor Ethan Ruan, NFL player Garrett Wilson and footballer turned entrepreneur Hidetoshi Nakata. Ruan’s jacket is an exquisite demonstration of Stone Island’s ability to embody classic menswear with nods to technical progression. A cotton canvas blazer has been fitted with exaggerated pockets, and a cashmere knitted zip-up is embedded into the interior.
Wilson’s coat plays to a more streamlined audience, with simple lines and restrained details. The standout portion of this jacket is the use of alcantara on the exterior, a material known for its suede like consistency. Alcantara is generally found in car interiors, although the Osti minds have been gravitating to it more over the last year.
Nakata finishes the three-piece teaser with an all black overshirt that has been designed with the brand’s new diagonal linen fabric. Reinforcing the Ghost’s tonal DNA, the midnight black colour hides the detailed pockets on the mid section, adjustable cuffs and hidden button placket.
