Old School, New Threads.
Auralee, a defining brand in the new menswear zeitgeist, have come together with New Balance to revive a vintage classic. We all fell in love with the modernity surrounding the 550s revolution of tennis shoes, and how the 990 continued our affinity for dad shoes.
The Japanese tailoring brand, breaking into global wardrobes, previously teamed up with New Balance on a delectable pale yellow take on the 990v4, and took a similar hue to their latest collaboration, a New Balance 475. Initially designed as a high-mileage, distance running shoe, the 475 has made its way into the scanning eyes of Auralee due to its ability to morph from concrete foot paths to modern fashion.
Released in two colourways, the 475 appears in a vintage yellow and vintage grey colourway, the latter being an ode to New Balance’s love for beat-up, grey colour schemes. Premium suede and mesh elevate this sneaker from a vintage eBay find to a modern classic.
New Balance and Auralee’s 475s are set to release on May 16th at 9 am. Check out the brand’s imagery below.
