The announcement follows the news of the departure of Véronique Nichanian, who led Hermès menswear for an incredible 37 years.
Grace Wales Bonner, the British designer celebrated for her elegant tailoring and rich cultural storytelling, now steps into one of the most prestigious roles in luxury fashion. Ever since launching her own label in 2014, she’s built a reputation for blending craft, history, and modern style, and her collaborations with adidas have made her a global favourite.
The British-Jamaican designer, who once called working with the French house her “dream,” now takes the helm after years of speculation linking her to top roles across luxury’s biggest names. Her appointment also marks a defining moment for the industry, becoming the first Black woman to lead design at a major French luxury house.
It’s safe to say, Grace Wales Bonner is reshaping what leadership in fashion looks like.
