Balmain's latest move is Antonin Tron.
French luxury house Balmain has appointed Antonin Tron as its new Creative Director, succeeding Olivier Rousteing after his highly visible 14-year tenure. Tron, the founder of the critically praised label Atlein, is known for a sophisticated aesthetic rooted in precise tailoring, sensual draping, and technical excellence, particularly with jersey fabrics. His background includes working at major houses like Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, positioning him as a designer focused on the purity of craft. Balmain’s leadership is betting on Tron to usher in a refined, design-first chapter for the brand, moving from Rousteing’s high-wattage, celebrity-driven glamour to a deeper focus on savoir-faire and elegant construction.
Antonin will be presenting his debut collection for Balmain Fall-Winter 2026-27 during Paris Fashion Week in March 2026. What are your thoughts on fashion’s latest appointment?
