In collaboration with Beijing-based artist Lv Wenting.
Lanvin is celebrating the Year of the Horse with a Lunar New Year capsule collection that explores themes of enduring bonds and transmission. For the occasion, the French house has collaborated with Beijing-based contemporary artist Lv Wenting, whose introspective practice closely aligns with Lanvin’s heritage and values.
Drawing a parallel to founder Jeanne Lanvin, whose creative vision was deeply shaped by her relationship with her daughter Marguerite, Lv Wenting brings her own experience of motherhood into the collaboration. Her work reflects ideas of empathy, care, and continuity, which are central to the collection’s narrative.
At the heart of the capsule is a motif of three gently intertwined horses, symbolising protection and connection. The design appears in print across ready-to-wear and accessories, anchoring the Lunar New Year offering. The collaboration also extends beyond product to immersive retail installations in Shanghai and Hong Kong, where bespoke lanterns and Miao-embroidered tapestries created by Lv Wenting illuminate Lanvin boutique windows. Watercolour animations complete the presentation, adding movement and a poetic dimension to the celebration.
