McQueen Goes Under the Sea For Its Manta Campaign

In McQueen we can always trust, no matter when you’re reading this. For the brand’s latest campaign, the Manta Bag takes the spotlight as the ultimate it-girl bag. Shot by Tim Walker, the whole campaign is giving eerie, breathtaking, deep-ocean energy: an otherworldly waterscape that feels less like a fashion shoot and more like a fever dream you didn’t want to wake up from.

The bag itself has serious archive credibility. The Manta is rooted in the De Manta silhouette from McQueen’s legendary SS10 ‘Plato’s Atlantis’ collection, where the house basically used the anatomy of a manta ray to engineer one of the most sculptural handbag shapes ever. Angular, folded, razor-sharp, it’s the kind of piece that clashes elemental and urbane in the most McQueen way possible. It comes in smooth black, red, and metallic gunmetal leather, with pearl, crystal, and chandelier chain charm options because of course it does.
