Saint Laurent’s New Campaign Reminds Us That It’s Still Summer

Respiro.

Unlike other brands who have moved into promoting their fall campaigns, Saint Laurent took a refreshing backseat. Throughout the past two weeks, they have continuously been dropping more still-life images of their summer campaign. Titled Respiro, which is Italian for breath/rest, Saint Laurent encourages us to take a break from thinking in advance of the upcoming seasons. Instead, allowing us to live in the moment and enjoy the current warmth of summer.

Saint Laurent’s summer story is told by models Mona Tougaard, Vittoria Ceretti⁣, Loli Bahia, SJ and Jenn Du Puy⁣ in a campaign that is set against coastal waters. 70s-inspired pieces subtly introduce themselves into the summer wardrobe through an orange and violet striped, boyish swim brief (sans top!) or a raspberry pink and yellow contrast one-piece. A red sweatshirt with coloured logo lettering acts as a cover-up and was taken directly from their archives. The original copy, featuring the pre-Hedi Slimane-days Yves Saint Laurent logo, can be frequently found on second-hand retail websites.

Their iconic silhouettes become transformed to suit the relaxed vibe of summer. Le 5 à 7 shoulder and tote bag are crafted with wooden beads, whereas the Loulou mini and Icare medium are made from crocheted raffia. Mini bags like the Jamie and the Gaby arrive in an understated black tone that is perfect for long summer nights!

Seasonal gadgets include a Wilson Tennis Racket⁣ set, Saint Laurent-branded diving board, cameras, and a Fieldbar Cooler trunk to store and keep beverages cool. The drunk arrives in a deep navy hue and will retail at £870.
