John Galliano: Horizons
It’s just under a year to go until the 2027 Met Gala, but a theme has already been announced – John Galliano: Horizons. Joining the likes of Yves Saint Laurent and Rei Kawakubo, John Galliano will be the third designer to be celebrated with a Met exhibition. Sketches, fabrics, garments and books will be on view that honour the designer’s imprint in fashion and the arts.
John Galliano: Horizons will span the designer’s over forty-year-old legacy from his early student days to his tenures at Givenchy, Dior, and Maison Margiela. Galliano is currently in a two-year partnership with Zara, and his first creation for the brand was seen on Stevie Nicks in last year’s Met Gala.
The exhibition will take place shortly after the Met Gala itself on the 3rd of May 2027. It will run from the 9th of May until the 9th of January 2028, giving people plenty of time to take a trip to New York and visit.
