Charlotte Mensah Is Celebrating 40 Years in Hair With a New Exhibition

"Community Matters" will trace Mensah's journey through hair, culture and identity.

Charlotte Mensah is set to bring four decades of work in hair, beauty and culture to London this September with a new retrospective exhibition at Ladbroke Hall.

Titled Charlotte Mensah: Community Matters, the exhibition will trace Mensah’s journey from her childhood in Ghana and formative years in 1980s North West London through to her career in Afro and textured hair. Developed with curator Madeleine Haddon and Creative Director and Producer Jacqueline Douglas, the exhibition will bring together photography, film, personal artefacts, archival material, soundscapes and interactive installations.

The exhibition marks several milestones for Mensah, including 40 years in the hair industry, 25 years of her Notting Hill Hair salon and 10 years of her namesake product line. A programme of talks, workshops and community events will also bring together creatives, industry figures and local communities.

Charlotte Mensah: Community Matters runs from the 8th – 13th of September 2026 at Ladbroke Hall, London. Find out more here.
