Tom Ford Studies the Art of Seduction for AW26

A Little Seduction, a Lot Tom Ford

Haider Ackermann’s exploration of seduction at Tom Ford continues. For the House’s AW26 campaign, Ackermann takes all the feels of his latest runway collection and strips away elaborate sets and scenery, putting the characters wearing it front and centre.

Shot against clinical white backdrops and under glaring light, the campaign captures characters and couples of different ages and walks of life. In typical Tom Ford fashion, the tailoring is top-tier, but there’s an undone quality to the styling that cuts through the precision. Ties are loosened, shirts are left unbuttoned and heels rest against a crisp shirt, as though the camera has caught its characters mid-scene. And, as with so many Tom Ford campaigns, there’s that lingering sense that we’ve just walked in on something we weren’t necessarily meant to see. As Ackermann puts it, underneath it all, there’s tension.

For Ackermann, these aren’t simply models wearing Tom Ford. The clothes become part of each character, with the designer describing them as “unfiltered and defiant.” Some images keep things relatively composed, while others get considerably more intimate, playing with attraction, power and the opposites that draw us together.

As Ackermann himself puts it, they have all “flirted with debauchery.” And really, what could be more Tom Ford than that?
