We were wondering what the next steps would be for the designer and, of course, for the brand, which had been left with a giant space to fill. Now, it has been confirmed that Dario Vitale has been appointed Creative Director of Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani Accessories, becoming the first person outside the Armani family to take on the role. The appointment marks a significant new chapter for the house and places Vitale at the centre of Armani’s creative evolution.
Speaking on his appointment, Vitale said: “I am honoured to take on this dual role across Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani, and deeply grateful to Silvana and Leo for welcoming me into their world.” He added that Armani’s “powerful legacy and unmistakable design language” come with a deep sense of responsibility as the house looks to “define a new era together.” His arrival will bring a contemporary perspective while building on the identity and heritage that have shaped Armani for decades.
