Kader Sylla Just Got His First adidas Signature Shoe

The Los Angeles-born skater has just unveiled the Kader, his first signature footwear model with adidas Skateboarding, marking a new chapter in a relationship that began back in 2021. Known for his loose style, creative approach, and presence both on and off the board, Sylla has become one of the more recognisable young voices in skate culture,  and now he’s taking that energy on the road with the launch of his global World Tour.

Built around Sylla’s personal taste and the demands of his skating, the Kader pulls from a somewhat unexpected source: a ’90s adidas Equipment basketball model. The mid-top silhouette reflects Sylla’s long-standing obsession with basketball footwear, while a reworked lacing system turns the Three Stripes into a functional design detail rather than simply a logo. Suede construction, Adituff underlays, and a full-length Lightmotion midsole bring the performance side, with elasticated tongue wings keeping the fit locked in. The result sits somewhere between archival basketball footwear and modern skate design, exactly the kind of crossover that we didn’t know we needed. The Kader is available now through skate retailers and adidas, with the accompanying World Tour set to bring the shoe directly into the communities and skate spots that shaped its creator.
