Tennis rackets? Check. Tennis courts? Check. Now, Lacoste is bringing a little more weather protection to the game with its latest launch with Mackintosh. The two brands have joined forces for a 12-piece collection that mixes Lacoste’s sporting history with Mackintosh’s expertise in waterproof outerwear.
Designed under the creative direction of Lacoste’s Pelagia Kolotouros, the joint project puts Mackintosh’s signature bonded waterproof cotton front and centre. Made using a layer of liquid rubber between two layers of fabric, the material gives the collection a practical edge while keeping the silhouettes polished — a pretty good serve when it comes to style and function.
The resulting lineup includes a polo poncho, trench dress, tracksuit-inspired shirt-jacket, belted pleated skirt, minimalist coat and low-waisted trench. Mackintosh’s signature waterproof tape runs throughout, appearing in white along interior seams and black across cuffs and hems as a homage to the lines found on a tennis court.
Finally, the collab is rounded out by a series of accessories, including two versions of Lacoste’s Lenglen bag, a racket cover and leather charms inspired by the brands’ archives.
