PAUSE Of The Week: Corduroy Trousers

By September 19, 2012Fashion News

There’s nothing we at PAUSE love more than the arrival of a new collection and these limited edition trainers are set to leave a substantial imprint in the urban shoe scene. Introducing: The Zebra Collection by Nike.

The hunt for statement footwear ends here as the popular athletic brand has launched 3 new animalistic trainers exclusive to OFFICE, from the ever-trending hi top Blazer to the retro 1980s Vortex – starting at an affordable £69.99. Pair them with an all black ensemble to add a subtle edge to a simple outfit or take on the role of the alpha male by creating a daring mix through combining with other prints.

It’s that time of the year again – London Fashion Week! The PAUSE team have been out on force this week bringing you the latest emerging trends and stylish menswear from in and around Somerset House for the S/S’13 shows and exhibitions. From smart tailored suits to clothes with a DIY aesthetic, we have selected a wide array of styles and trends just for you.

One emerging pattern we’ve seen this LFW is the expressive use of colour and lot’s of it. A bright colour can transform the simplest of outfits, helping you to stand out. Boy band Plastic certainly love a splash of colour and although their style might not suit everyones taste, their attention to detail is second to none. From DIY methods from studding to tie dye, Plastic synchronised sense of style certainly caused a stir at this weeks London Fashion Week.

Studding itself was a huge hit at this weeks London Fashion Week as the trend covered everything from classic brogues to studded man bags. One thing that was apparent this season was that it is ok to add a touch of femininity into your wardrobe. From necklaces and clutch bags to the colour pink there were several feminine elements trickling throughout the menswear, but styled in the right way it really worked.

We at PAUSE love new, innovative styles and trends so we had to let you in on this week’s latest. The weather is getting colder, trends are emerging and this autumn corduroy is taking the lead. Whilst menswear is constantly expanding and growing, the corduroy trouser is a fashion item that will never go out of fashion. This narrow cut-pile fabric will even get you feeling more regal this season, as it was inspired by the french phrase “corps du roi” meaning, “worthy of the king”.

This slim fit leg is perfect when paired with a smart white shirt for a black tie event, or add a satchel and converses for a casual day look. Opt for a bold blue or rich warm red to ensure you look and feel like fashion royalty. This particular cut from Topman costs around £80 but if you can’t wait until pay day purchase a pair from H&M in slightly darker tones for winter at just £19.99!
