HSTRY x Grungy Gentlemen Fall ’13 Collection

Something that’s been kept fairly quiet for some time now is the clothing line by Queens, New York rap icon Nas entitled HSTRY. It’s not new to hear of music artists expanding their endeavours into other fields of interest and popularity as we’ve witnessed through Jay- Z, P.Diddy, and Pharrell Williams however what are we to anticipate from Nas playing his skilled hand in the genre of street/urban clothing?

For the Fall 2013 collection he’s not gearing the garments alone, in fact HSTRY is defining the end of year season with a collaborative foot in the game working with multimedia, design and merchandise hybrid company Grundy Gentlemen who uniquely services in authentic content with fresh design style and lifestyle products. Reviewing over the look book, its moody, mature, in-depth, bold and firm for the fall ‘13 collection, it’s safe to say its pretty dope.

The assortments blend attentive mannerism to bold masculinity and enthusiastic style showmanship towards the essential wears during cold fall and winter months.  Most of the product selections like the Motorcycle Jacket, Vest, Flannel shirts and Backpack compile a tendency for quilted leather. Few uphold just smooth surface leathers such as the Strap back baseball hats and beanies otherwise many items feature both as the leather face mask showcase.

If that wasn’t enough there is the more uneven reptile like treated leather as a more daring alternative. Other than a deep sensation of red, there lacks a range of blushing colours; but there doesn’t necessarily need to be. Based on the general idea that fall and winter seasons are less flamboyant with colour arrangements opting instead for a heavy use of contrasting textures. Again there is the all white, all black pieces as seen boldly through Spring/Summer ’13 Collections so far. The star pick out of all that is to offer has to be the Peacoat Jacket; for its silhouette of sensibility, traditional long panel collars and trendy leather feature along the arms. It’s everything of a statement for gentlemen who gear up a subtle classic flair in outerwear ready for winter.
