With it being LCM Spring Summer 15, PAUSE thinks what better theme to base your collection on then ‘island life’ (meaning vivid colours and plenty of beachwear!)
When we say beachwear, it was beachwear with a twist, with the collection including a lot of technical elements. For SS15 stripe detailing is what James Long has focused on, with a lot of clashing stripe print and vertical lines, one example being a striped lurex jersey sweatshirt. Another element of the garments were blocks of colour made out of ribbon, reminiscent to the work of Piet Mondrian, being used as patches on triple washed denim jackets and shorts. SS15 also sees the introduction of an oversized handwritten JAMES that was seen in a number of looks, appearing on both tops and bottoms.
Mesh appeared on the catwalk once again at LCM, being used to create navy mesh kaftans with ribbon finish, as well as being used in some of the jumpers on both sleeves and front panels. Other products spotted were bubble knitwear that appeared to have plenty of texture, and flared leg trackpants.
Accessories that were seen at the James Long show were totes and rucksacks made out of quilted nylon for a statement finish.
