River Island have just collaborated with up and coming designers Baartman and Siegel (who are going to be unveiling their SS15 collection at LC:M in a few days!) and ahead of both River Island and their runway shows, they have released a few teaser images from their collaboration.
From what we can see, this is going to be an excellent collaboration. Their collection oozes quality, with the variety of textures that they use – the look-book itself seems very masculine with plenty of Chinese/Japanese influences with the Mao collared shirts and elements of high quality craftsmanship. There are lots of sharp lines and edges with the clothes, mirrored by the model. The teaser of the video campaign itself revolves around automobiles, and this is seen in the collection itself – the texture of the ‘leather’ sweatshirt looking like carbon fibre and the suede racing jacket.
From what we can see, this is going to be a very exciting collection. Take a look at the teaser for the lookbook below and we will keep you posted when the rest of the collection is announced. The rest of the teaser video is going to be shown at LC:M at the start of next week and the collection itself with debut online on the 17th June.
