Known for bringing the feminine element to LCM, J.W Anderson brought us probably one of his more masculine collections to date for SS16 that included raw denim, leathers and calico.
The theme for SS16 was space odyssey meaning a range of futuristic prints but also rather untried accessories: ‘bags’ that had were more resembling of a key rack next to your door and household items and brooches that had spanners, ratchets and axes dangling from them. However the electric leather colour jackets and wide fit buttoned tops were the items PAUSE did enjoy with a futuristic, space twist.
Although it was a more masculine line – thankfully no corsets this time – there were still plenty of pieces that fell between genders. Sheer tops with feather detailing and shoes that if it wasn’t for it being LCM, could have been men or women’s shoes.
Seeing just a variation in colour and pattern, PAUSE loved the wide legged pleats jeans as well as the pleated jackets that created some unique silhouettes on the runway. Other things to take away from the show would be oversized collars and 80s style trenches.
