PFW: Acne Studios Spring/Summer 2016

Acne Studios presents gender fluidity with it’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

Continuing his exploration regarding the concept of masculinity, designer Jonny Johansson gender blurs the clean, minimalist aesthetic of Acne Studios to create the Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

The approach of showcasing garments such as dress-length sweaters and playsuits adds an androgynous touch to his silhouettes. His fondness of the New York Dolls took an impression onto the footwear presented in the new season collection, coming from a time where unisex dressing was contemporaneous. The flair of soft colour palettes – dusky pink, pistachio green, peach – as well as glossy materials such as silk and coated polyester, complimented the androgynous essence of the collection. On the other hand, if you’re still after the classic, smooth Acne aesthetic, in which they have built their name upon over the years, an offering of their regular sartorial garments such as shirts, shrunken blazers and leather jackets may be best suited for you.
