A delicious find!
Tucked away in Southwark, this restaurant was buzzing on the Tuesday evening that PAUSE headed down! Serving Pan-Indian cuisine, headed up by Chef Cyrus Todiwala, Assado offers dishes for both meat eaters and veggies.
Todiwala brings his signature dishes to Assado based on many years as chef patron of the critically acclaimed landmark restaurant Café Spice Namaste.
Assado produces a variety of dishes… from Indian Street Food to specialities inspired by Todiwala’s rich Parsee culinary heritage and long stint as an executive chef in Goa. Many of his exquisite dishes originate, in fact, from Goa, which brings a lifelong inspiration to his cuisine.
Need some order inspiration?
PAUSE Recommends: Vegetable Caldeen (Squash, potato, cauliflower, sweet potato, peas simmered in a mild coconut milk & cashew nuts curry) with a side of naan.
Don’t forget to order the Pad with homemade chutney! Perfect to start nibbling on with a glass of red.
Dessert? Yes, there are some sweet options, so be sure to save some space! Order some Kulfi for the perfect way to close your evening. (Indian style ice cream if you didn’t know! Dense & creamy, much to our delight!)
