PFW: Henrik Vibskov Spring/Summer 2017 Collection

Henrik Vibskov showcases his SS17 line, dubbed, disturbingly, as the ‘Salami Kitchen Of The Non Existent.’

Vibskov’s flamboyance takes dark turn in his Spring collection. Vibskov’s runway was structured with veiny, borderline gory, and thankfully fake, cuts of meat. The meat motif does find its way onto a few accessories and a knitwear piece but not enough to overwhelm the cleanness of the collection. We at PAUSE have to wonder why Vibskov chose this theme here, a statement about ethical practices like veganism? Shock value? To simply keep things weird? Thoughts, anyone?

Staging aside, for the clothes themselves, Vibskov draws on martial arts pieces. Loose-fitted oversized silhouettes and cropped trousers and bold accessories carrying Lichtenstein-esque yellows and dot-work find their way into every look.
