Garciavelez’s latest collection pulls inspiration from Carlos Garciavelez’s knowledge of architecture, modernism and how modernism arrived in Mexico. The collection, titled “Verdigris” features a range of cool and comfortable suits, shorts and jackets in lightweight fabrics of blue, white, greys and black. For us at PAUSE, the trousers are the most surprising part of the collection. Recently flared trousers have been trying to claw their way back onto the street, but Garciavelez has cut these so that the flare is only noticeable if you squint. Garciavelez has also made sure that the hems trail along behind the model slightly to make the loose silhouettes look even looser.
