Andrea Crews is a brand that prides itself in its superior ability to upcycle, reinvent and revive clothing, while injecting contemporary streetwear styled vibes throughout.
For Artistic Director, Maroussia Rebecq, the real Andrea Crews DNA lies in this ability and the distinctly unique creations that stem from it. The up-cycling, for them, is a process that involves cutting, assembling and transforming existing clothing to make new parts, which are then mixed together to form unique fabric and pattern combinations – SS17′ was no different in this respect; much like Karl and his tweed.
For Spring / Summer 17′ we were presented with a collection showcasing what the brand does best. Oversized, genderless, bold and stylish. The blue collar influence ran strong throughout with baggy denim, work boots and several vivid orange pieces that couldn’t help but remind you of convict garb, or perhaps an episode of ‘Orange is The New Black’.
Instantly wearable ‘key’ pieces from the collection stood out easily, including; denim / cotton mixture sweaters, WORK hoodies and sweeping orange and denim outerwear from which the foundations of this very strong collection was built.
