With mottos and messages such as ’Anti-Héros’, ‘In my End is my Beginning’, or even ‘The chaos of the Trouble’, it’s hard not to think that the ICOSAE Autumn/Winter 2017 collection was connecting with the multiples #WomensMarches, held this weekend around the world. The vision of the label’s founders – Anthony Hor, Florentin and Valentin Glemarec – tackles the questions raised by our modern societies while finding the most appropriate and humorous response, just like the protests did in Washington, London, San Francisco or even Paris.
The trio of young creatives perfectly embodies the spirit of Paris, as the craftsmanship the Glemarec brothers inherited from their grandfather is mixed with a dose of modernity. The ICOSAE brothers also make the best use of new technologies and graphic design for their collection, revealing a more structured finish than modern brands.
Indeed, the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection delivered black and white silhouettes elevated with bold hues of red and white pearls elegantly hanging from each model’s ears. Whilst the bomber jacket is now a statement piece adopted and rightfully owned by the majority of the fashion pack, Florentin and Valentin Glemarec designed an oversized model where the sleeves are pleated and upper zips form a cut around the shoulders. Voilà, here’s how ICOSAE protests.
