Pushing Fashion Forward With A-COLD-WALL*
Samuel Ross made his runway debut at London Fashion Week Mens over the weekend, showing the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection for streetwear label A-COLD-WALL*. To celebrate this occasion, SSENSE interviewed the designer who once worked as Virgil Abloh’s right hand man and discussed gentrification, Fashion Week, culture and his past in the outdated world of graphic design stating “it’s a great feeling to know that more expressive and experimental ideas can be supported” in fashion. The new collection will see the debut of A-COLD-WALL* x Nike Air Force 1 High, which Ross stated he wants “to be something that will age beautifully.” He also discusses replicating wall pallettes and concrete blocks into cloth to represent specific geographical reference points, mainly London before stating that A-COLD-WALL* translates to “different continents because of the fact that we live in a capitalist environment”.
