Harry Xu debuted his Fall/Winter 2017 collection, Jarylo Reborn, at London Fashion Week. The Central Saint Martins graduate presented this collection as a sequel to his graduate collection, ‘My Russian Symphony – Youth Prisoners’, symbolising conflict between reality and fantasy. The design focusses on a change from street teenagers to mature men whilst retaining a fearless spirit and optimistic energy. The pieces feature a muted colour palette of black, white and navy as well as a rich platter of textures including silk, virgin wool and coated cotton. Xu experiments with the boundaries of the ‘man’ by modernising classic silhouettes such as shirts and jackets through tailoring and floral embroidery. Stand out pieces include a bright blue zip-up jacket and a longline embroidered coat.
