Balenciaga Hits The Big Apple
Balenciaga has opened a new store located in New York. Opening before the arrival of the Paris flagship store due in September, the space was configured by artistic director Demna Gvasalia. The aesthetic is an industrially inspired environment, taking from the interior of the previous Paris store.
There are already two existing locations for Balenciaga in SoHo, the new store reestablishes the brand’s status in New York.
The space measuring at 1,800-spare-foot is reminiscent of the production headquarters. Stocking both the men’s and women’s collection, one is greeted by the presence of glass and concrete and clothes are hung from conveyor rails stemming from a metallic ceiling. Other store features include aluminium display tables, benches made from synthetic leather and silicone curtains.
