One of the crowning jewels in the much-celebrated docklands renewal, The Marker Hotel, part of the Leading Hotels of the World portfolio, is among the spearheads of the Dublin’s 21st-century rejuvenation project.
A mere twenty-minute walk from the city centre, the 187 room geometric vision in white dominates over grand canal dock square – a new contemporary hub hosting the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Facebook headquarters and other ‘silicon valley’ powerhouses.
While it’s best to get out and explore the area on foot, we couldn’t recommend a visit to the hotel without mentioning the rooftop bar & terrace. Whether for a star-sprinkled nightcap or watching the sunset with one of the skilled bartenders many exquisite cocktails – it’s one of the best vistas in the city.
Working down the building, the bedrooms maintain the same exceptional standards. Fresh, clean, yet simultaneously warm and inviting; the large spaces are well thought out and perfectly complemented by cavernous marble speckled bathrooms.
The Brasserie restaurant on the ground floor maintains the buildings penchant for large, modern spaces and the food served perpetuates a similar aesthetic. Think Irish fine dining, with a forward-thinking, minimalist spin, all elevated with the ever important wine list – which has been carefully curated to complement the delectable cuisine of the emerald isle.
Among the many other facilities the Marker offers such as courtesy chauffers around the city, free wifi, a world-classs spa and expansive room service menu; the hotel’s staff are really second to none. Courteous, efficient and always with a smile, it’s a touch that’s worth the Markers marginally steeper price tag alone.
