Fashion and footballers seem to go hand in hand really. Footballers have long been associated with wearing the top designer brands, especially when they’re appearing at places where there’s likely to be people with cameras about. Nowadays, especially with the rise of social media platforms such as Instagram, footballers dressing well and looking good has never been so important. We’ve seen some seriously sharp dressers from the footballing world over the years but who makes the top 5 list when it comes to style?
Andrea Pirlo
Recently retired Andrea Pirlo played football like he approached fashion, in a very cool and laid back manner. On the pitch Pirlo was well known for playing glorious passes and striking beautifully hit free kicks, in an effortless manner, and this is exactly how he was in his dress sense. He was effortlessly cool, with his signature hair and beard always on point, and he could carry off a number of looks too. He looked sharp in suits but just as impressive in shirts and jeans and this makes him one of the best dressed footballers ever.
Xabi Alonso
Let’s face it, Xabi Alonso looked well-dressed on the pitch, never mind away from it. The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star is well known for packing a real punch when it comes to dressing well, especially after teaming up with fashion giants Hugo Boss. The thing with Alonso is that he looked well-dressed no matter what he was wearing and was able to carry off a number of different styles. From class Hugo Boss suits to woolly jumpers, the Spaniard carried every look off in a stylish way.
Hector Bellerin
Bellerin, very much like his fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso, has taken to fashion just as well as he’s taken to football. There are major differences between the two though and probably also between Bellerin and the rest on this list. While footballers do love to keep up with the latest fashion trends, Bellerin goes that one step further by carrying them off superbly. He’s undoubtedly one of the best dressed footballers on the planet right now and he’s certainly one who’s up to date with the latest in style too.
Graziano Pelle
Graziano Pelle who has been plying his trade out in the money laden Chinese Super League since leaving Southampton back in 2016. The Shadong Luneng striker has always been well known for being one of the sharpest dressers in the business and is often seen out and about in one of his trademark suits. From head to toe Pelle’s look is always on point with the 32 year old taking style awareness and fashion sense to a completely different level. The tux wearing Italian certainly has one of the best wardrobes in the game and has the look to bring it altogether too.
Pep Guardiola
There just has to be a special mention for former Barcelona player and manager and the current man in charge of Manchester City; a club that is massive odds on favourites with respected online betting sites like Unibet. Pep Guardiola has had many different looks over the years, especially since he moved into coaching, and it’s likely he will have many more too. He does smart and casual, but all at once and carries it off superbly. We’ve seen jumpers, trousers, skinny jeans, trainers and more; plus his Man City team, including all members of staff, dress like him when travelling. He’s one of the best dressed about and therefore so are his team.
