Umbro Takes Style Cues From 1966 World-Cup

Umbro, who recently reclaimed their status in the fashion industry with their take on the chunky sneaker, have revealed their latest capsule inspired by the 1966 World-Cup. In a nod to the year that saw Russia deciding against wearing a kit, the brand have opted to release the ‘lost kit’ collection.

Historical Russian fashion cues, as seen in Gosha Rubchinkskiy’s work, are put to good use in Umbro’s capsule, featuring a heavy stroke of red, white and blue colour blocking.

Ranging from £35 to £80; bomber jackets, duffle bags, tees and lightweight track jackets are all key pieces, reminiscent of the 60s Russian football lifestyle and fashion. The full collection will be released this coming April 25th.
