A Nod to Retro Basketball Trainers.

We have all been eagerly waiting to see what Louis Vuitton’s menswear department will look like under Virgil Abloh’s creative direction, and now thanks to LV’s Head Footwear Designer, Mathias Patillon, we have first look at Abloh’s debut sneaker design.

Earlier in the month, Abloh teased sketches on Instagram of the upcoming design, while Patillon posted a photo showing the grey, white and red panelling, with “VUITTON” written in all caps sole of the sneakers. The rest of the sneaker dons an obscure upper, with black & white panelling and dark laces. Bearing a light retro Air Jordan resemblance, the sneaker has a silver cross strap, with white text and sports an upward-angled “408”.

In an Instagram post, ASAP Rocky was also spotted in Paris donning a pair of the new Aboh designed Louis Vuitton sneakers. Be sure to look out for the sneakers in today at Virgil Abloh’s first Louis Vuitton showing.
