Five characters, one villa.
For its Holiday 2020 campaign, Prada reference film noir, under the lens of Steven Meisel and with an original Prada story written by Candice Carty-Williams.
The setting of the short movie is Villa Gnutti, an isolated residence become famous in 1981 by the shots of Helmut Newton. Freja Beha, Maty Fall, Mao Xiaoxing, Rudolfs Valbergs and Merlijne Schorren act as the main protagonists in the campaign, donning various Prada pieces as they play chess and dominoes in the festive family affair.
In a classic ‘whodunit’ tale, accessories, jewels and leather goods are intertwined with black-and-white stills, macro shots and close-ups. The new Prada Cleo bag is the focal point of the campaign, while The Prada triangle – an emblem of the brand – is delivered across precious jewellery for him and her. Elsewhere, small accessories like a Saffiano leather smartphone case, a picnic backpack, and lifestyle goods such as a stainless steel lunch box also appear.
All products featured can be bought on Prada’s website, while the campaign and adjoining video can be viewed below.
