For its latest seasonal collection, titled Hope Springs Infernal, AllSaints evokes a strong sense of nostalgia and escapism for those of us confined to our four walls. The label took a trip to California to shoot its latest offerings against the vast and dramatic backdrop of the desert.
Beyond being a stylistic choice, the setting for this campaign serves as a visual reminder of the need to preserve water. The collection utilises organic, plant-based and recycled materials, with the brand citing that 82% of the menswear pieces have a sustainable element. Using these materials, alongside having items produced with innovative machinery, means that the collection is able to limit its water usage.
A prevailing theme in the collection is that of Americana, workwear staples such as denim jeans, leather jackets and flannel shirts are entirely at home in the country’s landscape. The campaign’s blending of heritage with cutting-edge sustainable techniques, whilst depicting the optimism of youth and escapism, is where the hope in this collection is harnessed.
