NAS – STREET DREAMS (BONUS VERSE)
Nas undoubtedly stands firmly as one of Hip-hops most foremost innovators. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of his 1996 landmark album ‘It Was Written’, the trailblazer has announced an expanded edition which will include the original tracks alongside previously unheard tracks ‘Silent Murder’ and ‘Street Dreams’ with a bonus verse. The album and two complementary tracks arrive alongside a Sony-produced documentary that portrays the release and creation of the album that essentially catapulted Nas from New York’s underground scene to wider American awareness.
JAYKAE ft. JORJA SMITH – 1000 Nights
MC artist Jaykae calls on fellow west-midlands star Jorja Smith for their reminiscent track ‘1000 nights’. Dubbed as Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record in The World’, the two go back-to-back over the Ezrah-produced single.
DVSN ft. TY DOLLA SIGN and MAC MILLER – I BELIEVED IT
Toronto’s acclaimed duo DVSN has enlisted Grammy-nominated artist Ty Dolla Sign and the late, great Mac Miller for a collaborative single ‘I Believed It’. The emotional track, produced by Nineteen85, creates a perfect landscape for Ty Dolla’s renowned vocals. Featuring a captivating performance from greatly missed Miller, both DVSN and Ty have also shared the behind-the-scenes process which features Mac.
AVELINO – 100K
Continuing from the release of ‘Waze’, his collaborative track featuring SL, Tottenham rapper Avelino is back with a brand-new single titled ‘100K’. Not only can we appreciate a wide-ranging single, but we also have an eagerly anticipated project titled ‘Ego Kills’ due at the end of July which marks the artist’s first full-body release since 2017.
RASHARN POWELL – DEMONS
Renaissance R&B star Rasharn Powell has released his debut mixtape entitled ‘Dusk & Dawn’ beside lead single ‘Demons’. The carefully curated 11-track project is considered the artist’s most poignant, whilst he uses his musical dexterity to break down any barriers – “There are all these rules and things people say you’re meant to do when making music, but I’m not afraid to break them,” he explains. Encapsulating the moment in which you’re over someone, ‘Demons’ offers us a look into Powell’s alter-ego.
YOUR GRANDPARENTS – SUNLIGHT
Rising LA-based group ‘Your Grandparents’ have dropped their new single titled ‘Sunlight’, arriving alongside the news of their forthcoming debut album. Not only do the trio pay homage to Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Rock and Blues, their moniker too – “Your Grandparents” – are a nod to those who introduced them to classic artists and the musical tastes they embody and appreciate today.
BLXST ft. BINO RIDEAUX – MOVIE
Taken off the forthcoming project “Sixtape 2’ expected mid-July, LA Hip-hop artists Blxst and Bino Rideaux have released a brand-new music video for their hit single ‘Movie’. The visuals, courtesy of Red Bull Records, depict both artists hilariously working as two new employees at a car wash–turned party – as the video progresses.
