Even including a customisation service.

An artist with a distinctive style of gestural painting that embraces the spirit of graffiti culture in New York, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s work remains striking and novel in the modern-day. Celebrating his work by printing it onto its signature footwear styles and a range of t-shirts, Converse has recognised this and allowed his art and legacy to do the talking in its latest collection.

Featuring four of Basquiat’s most famous pieces: Kings of Egypt III, Kings of Egypt II, Pez Dispenser and Untitled (World Famous), the paintings are added to the classic Chuck 70 and Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers along with the reintroduced Skidgrip. With all three sneakers coming in a black upper with a white midsole, the monochrome colour scheme is continued into the garments with a crew neck and t-shirts that feature the American artist’s colourful works coming in white and black.

Alongside this collection, Converse is allowing you the opportunity to customise their products with two of Basquiat’s signature works – his iconic crown and Untitled (World Famous) via Converse By You. The platform allows you to use these art pieces on the Chuck Taylor All Star across shoe’s upper, along with customizable All Star patches, canvas, laces, rubber, and eyelets.

Check out the Converse X Jean-Michel Basquiat collection below, available to shop from September 16 on Converse.com and select retailers.
