PAUSE Picks: 5 Sneaker Releases of the Week

Adidas YEEZY Boost 700

With the release of his album DONDA, Ye is back delivering new sneakers as this week marks the launch of the YZY KNT RNNR, a new colourway of the Foam Runner and this yellow-hued Boost 700 model. The shoe features reflective notes on the upper, including the large 700 branding which runs across the side, along with a contrasting black midsole and details.

Converse X Jean Michel Basquiat Skidgrip Ox

An artist whose legacy and influence is undeniable, Converse celebrates the street-inspired art of Jean-Michel Basquiat with its latest collection. Using the classic Skidgrip OX sneaker as its canvas, the shoe features the artwork Kings of Egypt II, painted in 1982, on its upper.

Off-White Out of Office

A shoe that has become a signature model for Off-White, the Out Of Office sneaker features a classic, basketball-inspired silhouette. This latest release sees the shoe in a navy blue, orange and white colourway, with the brand’s zip-tie branding that is found in its footwear re-imagined in calf leather.

Givenchy Giv 1

A footwear design introduced by Matthew Williams as creative director, the Giv 1 was first debuted in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection and it looks like it’s here to stay. For this season, it is introduced in a green colourway with a sculpted sole unit that features a translucent midsole.

Bottega Veneta Quilt Leather Trainer Roller Skates

A footwear style that I did not expect to cover when I started doing these sneaker round-ups, Bottega Veneta has released a pair of roller skates. Referencing the popularity of roller skating in the 70s and 80s, these retro-infused sneakers are handcrafted in Italy using a smooth cream leather on the upper. Possibly the most luxurious roller skates in existence, they are tagged at a cool £1,565.
